A Talking Tree On a Washing Machine

June 25, 2024

I found the side of a washing machine in Olde Town Conyers, GA last spring. Later on I drew out an image on it with One Shot sign paint. I kept it for months and enjoyed it. I have found that folks buy a colored painting quicker than just a line work drawing. So, I colored it the other day. I had it on display at the BlackCatTips Open Studio in June. Oddly enough, we forgot to price it so it did not sell. :)

The painting is a tree with a baby and a large old fish. Also a time clock with shoes to show we are always on the move throughout our existence. I painted the rest of it with glossy colors in water based enamel paints made for metal. I then painted the edged and back and wired it up. It does look nice in full color.

I like painting on found objects. I think the old materials give the painting a sort of character a blank peice of wood or a new canvas never could. They have already lived a life before I found them. Also they usually cost nothing and that is appealing as well.

If you are interested in any of my work please write me and ask if you can make it yours.

Painting is one of the few things in life that bring me a calmness and a pure inner joy and peace. I am thankful to GOD the creator for this. Where is GOD? I am not sure other than all around and throughout.

I am thankful to GOD wherever GOD is.

See you soon,
Kyle BlackCatTips Brooks

P.S. I will be at Finster Fest this September at Paradise Gardens near Summerville, GA to sell art and speak.
