Getting Ready For The East Atlanta Strut 2011

August 19, 2011

I am going to be in the EAV Strut on September 17th. I will be selling my art in a street art festival. For the most part it is the typical sort of summer neighborhood festival; music, food, beer, art and crazy folks. Hopefully inclement weather will not show up.

This will be my first public showing in a festival. I have sold works in stores and salons. I have mainly sold art on my own. But I have never had my paintings in an art festival surrounded by the wandering hoards of sunburned and over-fed humanity. I hope it is the start of a good thing.

I want people to see my work in person. I want them to see me. I know the art takes on a new life when seen with eyes instead of transferred through a computer. The bumps, the brush strokes, the wood grain, the colors all make the paintings more impressive in person.

I have a lot to do in a few weeks. Here are a few of my to-do items: gathering supplies for a display, ordering publicity materials and creating and preparing paintings and prints. I will be ready. Perhaps not completely sane but prepared none the less.

Excuse me while I get to work and I hope to see you in September!
