Bear Heads Around Town

August 23, 2011

Since last Friday I have put out a lot of artwork around Atlanta. I put out a lot of bear heads. I painted themĀ on different materials: wood, plastic and cardboard. Some are in trees and some on telephone poles. All around Atlanta I am trying to share some smiles and a little art.

I put wooden bears on I-20 near Flat Shoals and I-85 just south of Druid Hills. I put one in a tree in Freedom Park near Moreland Avenue. Today I put a wooden bear in a pine tree. You can see it in west Fayetteville near Huiet and Lester Roads. I put some bears on Highland Ave. and Marietta Street. Georgia Tech has bears now and so does Ponce de Leon near Highland. I am sure many of them will be removed by the county/city ( or already have) but hopefully some folks will see them before they hibernate in the trash.

If you spot one take a photo and tell your friends.

My BeltLine Bears mural has been mentioned in the press lately. I am excited about the news mentions. Creative Loafing wrote a small article. It was picked up by Atlanta InTown and Fox Five Atlanta. Thanks everyone.
