One Year Ago

A year ago this weekend, I sold art to the public for the first time. I stood in front of a boarded up building on Memorial Drive. I put all my paintings along the building. I sold art for 2 days in that spot. I did great the first day; not as good the second. But it showed me that I could sell paintings I made.

In the last twelve months I have been trying to grow and create and market myself. People say you have to “get it out there.” So I am. I have met a lot of new people and have become more used to speaking to strangers about what I do. I think I am pretty strange as well.

This weekend I will be at the Chomp & Stomp Chili and Bluegrass Fest in Cabbagetown. It is just a couple blocks from where I was last year selling art on the street. Come by and see me and we will talk about what we have done over the last twelve months. You can try out some good chili too.
