Fayette Courthouse Fine Art Show

May 22, 2012

This last weekend I spent two days on the courthouse square for the Fayette Courthouse Fine Art Show. This was the first time I sold art on a nice carpet of green grass; very soft.  I once again got angry setting up the tent and said I would never do this again; but I do this every show!

I saw a lot of neat dogs and some cool parrots. A bunch of folks asked me about the cross and bears along Highway 85. They wanted to know what it was all about. I met artist Troy Crisswell. He wrote a little song called “Long Tall Kyle.” Every so often he would holler out a line or two as we sat under the shade tree. I even decorated the back of my tent so people in their cars could sit and think.

I drank a 3 or 4 coffees and shook  7 or 9 hands. I met the mayor ate a sandwich and was thankful for the nice weather. I had hoped to connect with people a little more and make a few more sales. I did feel confident that my art was very unique and colorful. I also will always be happy when I see someone walk up and start smiling because of what I have painted. I found a few true fans; or they found me.

Watch my bird friend Princess the Cockatoo drink my coffee and talk in my ear.
