4 Red Goats

February 27, 2011

What have I been up to lately?

I went to my parent’s house and rummaged through the crawl-space. I found some old boards. I decided I would paint some words on them. When I was painting them the local drifter cat came by for a visit. I am going to go this afternoon and put these signs on some telephone poles around town. One of them says to,” Call Your Mom.” I also painted an old 2 x 4 board. I put some stripes on it. I just thought it needed some decoration. I promise I will not paint any tree trunks or rocks like some folks in the country do; plain white trunks and rocks.

I have been working on a couple commission paintings for Forsyth Endodontics. I am painting 2, 24 x 36 inch canvases with a cherry blossom and limbs theme. They saw some of my work online and asked me if I could create something similar for their office in Cumming, Georgia. The weather has been nice enough that I have been painting outside. I think this makes a spring-like theme easier to create when you can actually hear the birds and feel the breeze while you paint. I will put an update on the paintings when they are finished.

A few years ago I painted 4 large goat paintings. They are painted with red, black and white latex paint. They are very bold and a little odd. I like them a lot and they are the largest paintings on canvas I have made. I decided to photograph them a couple days ago in the sunlight. Each painting is 4 x 5 feet. I know they would go great in a restaurant, club or an office. Maybe someone with wall space and a love for hoofed friends would like them. I need to move these 4 paintings so I can make room for new ones. They are for sale and I would love to find them new walls to hang upon. If you know someone who might be interested please email me through my website.

I am currently sitting on my back porch and I can hear the Canada Geese acting like idiots in the pond. Ahhh… the sounds of “almost spring.”
