Spirits and the Melchizedek Children Poster – 97 Estoria Show

I made another concert poster for Spirits and the Melchizedek Children. I am so glad they like my art. This show will be at 97 Estoria in Cabbagetown, Atlanta.

I had an older painting on my wall. Last Friday, during dinner, I took it off the wall and started painting. I slapped colors on it where before there had been washed out and light hues. I have been adding to the artwork since the weekend; a little here and there.

I sat down to make this poster I started out making ink blots and planning on using a power-line city theme. I drew out the power poles and birds on a wire. I made a series of Rorschach Tests prints. As I worked I just kept looking at the painting of the face and it spoke to me. The face didn’t really speak but there was something haunting about it. I took a photo of the painting and now here we are; a new poster.

I really like the colors and the boldness this piece creates. It has a “strange quality” about it and this is good. I knew the Spirits would approve.
