An Electric Eel In A Cherry Tree

March 1, 2011

I thought I had mentioned these 2 painting projects you but it looks as though I did not. So I will now.

I recently completed 2 commission pieces. The first was for a guy I know who collects guitars. He asked me if I would come up with something to paint on one of his 1970’s Fender Telecaster. I decided to paint an electric eel on it. Electric eel for an electric guitar. He agreed and I painted this…

I also worked on a painting for a lady in Blacksburg, Virginia. It was a gift for her husband. He has a chinese medicinal massage studio and she wanted the painting to reflect this part of their life in some way. I came up with the idea of chinese cherry blossoms. She wrote me and said he really liked it. She also said he thought the package was a box of cat toys when it was delivered. I went and checked my records and I do not make or ship cat toys. Maybe I should.

Today I went and picked up a few paintings I had for sale at Kudzu Antiques in Decatur. They were in a booth run by Balance Design of Candler Park. I had paintings for sale there since last summer. I was happy to find out that this painting had sold. I am glad someone could take it home.

If you would like me to create a painting for you please send me a note.
