Screen Printing and Santa Claus

I am making a limited edition silkscreen print for my upcoming show — Festival of the Bears. My friend Peter helped me. We did the printing this weekend at his house. He has a screen printing setup in his basement. He wore his fancy green shirt for good luck. I appreciated that.

Before I screened the prints I painted on the paper. I wanted to make them all a little different. After the prints are dry I will do a few more things to them to give them all a unique touch. Splatter splatter splat!

I took some photos during the process. I also walked around bent over because the ceiling was low. On the way over to their house I saw a plastic Santa on the side of the road. I told them about it and Peter’s wife and boy went and picked it up. It must be a Christmas miracle! (The Santa looked surprised.)

I think the prints turned out really nice. I am looking forward to the show this Thursday, May 30th. Hope to see you there between 7 and 10.
