Art By The Highway (gals and a hatchet)

November 23, 2014

My two nieces and I went throught the woods. I made a make-shift bridge over the creek and they walked on all fours across the rungs. We carried all my art and tools through the woods and up the hill. Maria supervised this outing. We were planning on putting some new art by the highway.

We walked past the ferns and tree trunks—from the dark woods to the grassy yellow light. I showed them how to climb the ladder. I showed them how to hold the nails in their lips while they held the signs and hammer. I showed them how you chop vines with the hatchet. I let them pick some of the art and where it should go.

It was a mighty good time. I am glad they wanted to help. I wore my hat and some folks honked their horns. Peace be with you. Peace be with me.
