Death of the Sea Beast (on a spring afternoon)

March 8, 2016

Death of the Sea Beast.

Today a mural I painted was torn down. I painted it almost 2 years ago. It lived its life.

We all have a birth and death date — a start and finish line. We all have chances to do things. We all have a voice inside of ourselves pushing us along. Listen for it. It might be shy and tiny but it speaks.

Art is born and dies too. It all seems to be somewhat painful at times—the creating and the end of it all. It begins with the conceptual birthing process. Then there is the struggle of existing and self-identity. Down the road we stumble upon the wind down to the END and lastly the transformation into a memory. Weather and years take their toll but also make us richer and more aware.

But… I am alive for now (and you too) … so I’ll make some more art and memories. It helps me be happy :)
