Doodles On Wood (they aren’t doodles at all)

October 25, 2016

Sippin’ mostly decaf coffee she bought me in Savannah during September I listen to 24 Frames by Isbell. My head hurts most days I awake. My brain never used to ache in the morning. At least I haven’t fallen upon the fate of the armadillo that was visiting our yard. Today I drink coffee from a very touristy mug from Puerto Rico.

I made these “doodles” last week. They all went to the same person who was giving them as Thank You’s to work connections. I make these things and send them on their way and I will probably never see them again— but why would i need to? — the thoughts circulate in my head all of the time. I should send my thoughts and ideas to where they may float and let others see what I may or may not see.

On the heels of tiny paintings I keep thinking of making larger paintings. Large paintings usually do not sell as quickly but I still want to make them. I could store them in the old barn. The barn rats and field mice could study them. I should make them just for the process and the photos I can share. Then I can buy that shotgun I am wanting and blow them darn things away.
