The BeltLine Bears: Day 6

July 27, 2011

I could tell you what I did today but I will not. Instead I will let you read a poem I wrote this morning and show a few photos. Sleep well and take deep breathes…

The harmony grits

The old peach pits

You ask your mother

She has a fit

Long walk home

Sat on the granite curb

Your mind is disturbed

Talk to a passer-by dog

Think back to shakey-shakey fur back

Call up Jesse-Lynn

Ask her how she has been

She says her phone is breaking up

You start walking again

Wave at the bus driver

Open your door at a quarter past 8

Smells stale in your home

Light a stick and let it fill the air

Open the door and stare

A squirrel runs by

Sit in your half-broke rocking chair

The thunder clap is miles away
