The BeltLine Bears: Day 10

August 3, 2011

It was nice to get back to work today. I painted rainbows and clouds. I do not know if that classifies me as “tough” but it was a nice day. I sometimes cuss and spit; stomp my foot. Does that help? I wonder if Clint Eastwood ever spent an afternoon painting rainbows? Heck.

See a current wall panorama photo here.

Speaking of tough, how about painting in 100 degree temperatures? The heat was very impressive this afternoon. At 12:30 pm today, the surface temperature of a stump next to me was as high as 148 degrees!  I sat the thermometer sensor in full sun. In a few minutes it was at 130 degrees and rising. The thermometer was accurate before I left and when I brought it back home it still worked correctly. I am sure the hood of my truck was even hotter. I suppose I could have cooked my lunch on it. Absolutely unbelievable. (see photo) The paint doesn’t take long to dry under these conditions.

I drank about 3 quarts of water today. I mixed a little more than that with my paint.

When this wall is finished I need to find another one.
