Story - When I began painting this was my first creation. I have always been inspired by old icon-based paintings from the Eastern European churches. I had seen a photo in the newspaper from a visit the Pope made. He had gone to an old church and a large Jesus painting was in the background I do not remember the country it was in but this image stuck with me. I asked a woman who spoke Spanish to translate this for me. I wanted to paint it in Spanish for some reason. It reads, "I am the way, the truth, and the life."

Painting - The original painting is acrylic on canvas board. It measures 19" wide by 19" tall.
