Painting Mountains For Rivian

I was asked to paint at an event for the new Rivian R2 electric vehicle. The event featuring live music, ice cream, art making and the new vehicle. It was held at the Rivian Showroom at Ponce City Market in Atlanta. When I arrived to set up there was already a line down the sidewalk one hour long! I painted two paintings on plywood and I cut the tops out to be the shape of mountains. The mountain shape was suggested to me as a good idea and I agreed. I enjoyed the interactions with the people walking by and it one point I had a row of children watching me paint and asking me lots of questions. I must admit though painting in front of a bunch of people is very different than painting in my studio and it makes you think a little differently too. Thanks to Cathy and John from Forward Warrior and Cabbagetown USA for their help in making this happen. It was a good event . Here are some photos and links to the paintings which are now for sale.
