Chalk Drawings

December 17, 2011

I was asked to do the backgrounds for a calendar photo shoot. I spent over 2 days doing drawings with chalk on a 8 x 10 foot wall. Each month the illustration would progress to the next; leaves grow, leaves fall, sun shines, it rains, snow, wind , birds and squirrels. You get the picture.

The calendar was for the Atlanta Resource Foundation. It is an organization that helps local charities find funding. I was asked to do this by House of Current. The photography was by Scott Lowden Photography in Atlanta.

This was quite an experience. They had wardrobe and makeup and assistants. It was top-notch professional and I really enjoyed myself; lights, camera woweee! They fed me and gave me coffee and I made new friends. They even had a few tiny dogs that kept me company.  The entire process was captured with over 3000 photos. They created a time-lapse film of all the work from beginning to end. Thanks to House of Current for asking me to be a part of this great project.

Take 5 minutes and watch this time-lapse film.
