Two HighPoint Hound Murals

March 30, 2024

I painted 2 outdoor murals for HighPoint Elementary School in Sandy Springs. Sandy Springs is just north of Atlanta. My Dad grew up there — not at the school, but nearby off of Hammond Drive. The school has a mascot of a hound dog so I based my murals on a dog theme. Seems like lately I paint a lot of dogs and cats. I am thankful I can create them in my own way. I painted the first mural for HighPoint late last Fall and I just finished the other one at last week at the start of Spring.

Here are a bunch of photos of the 2 projects. They sit on different sides of a square green space inside the school. Below are some different photos of the progression of the paintings. Painting on raw brick is a challenge but I have learned what makes it work for me. I do a good quality job and with coats of primer and using brushes I can get a really nice final product that should last many years in the elements and still look nice. High quality dog murals make you feel good. Also….. Thanks to Mr. Harry for checking on me and keeping me company.

If you would like to hire Mr. BlackCatTips to paint a mural you can write me here.

See you soon,
Kyle BlackCatTips Brooks
