Greetings From 30253

3-0-2-5-3 is a zip code. McDonough, Georgia to be exact. I grew up in the north end of Henry County — north of Stockbridge. This mural is a little more south of where I went to school — Maybe 10 miles south. It is not too far if you ride in a truck. I painted a small painting on paper with house paint a couple years ago for a friend. It was a request to paint my version of the numbers 30253. Now I was requested to paint the same thing but bigger on the side of a building. I decided it seemed like a good challenge.

I have never painted a bigger version of a smaller painting. It was on an old unpainted brick wall. I enjoyed seeing it from down the street as I would drive up to work. I hope folks driving by are happy with it. I met some nice folks there — Patrick, Beth, Tracy, Tony and Destiny. I am sure I met a few others.

Destiny asked if she could pray for me. I said, “Sure.” I never had anyone ask to pray for me while I was painting a mural. While she prayed I was standing on two ladders straddling a metal fence. I must have looked like I needed some help. I always could use a little help. Thanks 30253.
