Sketchbook by the Sea

July 13, 2012

I went away for a while. I rode to the beach in a black Suburban. The beach is nice in evening; or morning, if you are that kind of person. I prefer evenings. I am wide awake and the sun is going down and the breeze feels good. I like to watch birds. I like to drink coffee. I like to play music. Too bad I didn’t take paints or my brown guitar to the beach with me. All of that sand and those harsh rough sharp-edged plants. The laughing gull and the brown pelican both flew overhead. I saw the most amazing storm; blue-marbled boiling clouds. It ripped the screen door out of my hands and sent shingles flying into the dunes. I saw a town named Beaufort. I saw crabs and a flounder and a boat from St. Petersburg.

While at the beach I did a bunch of drawing. I tried to work on specific goals but those didn’t work out so well. So I came up with these. Aargh Mateys!
