Painting Hobo Hotdogs (doggy dogg decatur)

June 5, 2015

I have been painting for my friend James HotDog who owns Doggy Dogg.  James is opening a hotdog cart concept in a walk-up restaurant in Dectaur across from Kimball House. I am doing some decorating for him.

I have been painting hobo hotdogs. These hotdog guys I am painting make me laugh. I will paint one and then it is just so funny to me. It helps even out the stress. I am thankful for things like that. Things that take the trouble away for a little bit without side effects— just pure goodness.

I also like painting on location because I get to meet new people. I have met a whole bunch of folks from the buisnesses around that area: a nice old walking fella named Leehe is 71, walks twice a day, hung sheet rock all his life and his family lives in Athens, William & Kizzy from Kimball House who wear fancy clothes, Phillip the meat cooker— who wears a bandana and smokes the brisket behind the buiding, and Charles the real country worker man—he says PABLO in a super slow syrupy country way. I love it. I really do. (When they arent around I practice talking like Charles and Phillip.)
