Netflix Mural – Teenage Bounty Hunters

September 10, 2020

In May of 2019, I made a trip up to Third Rail Studios in Doraville, Georgia. I was meeting with them about a mural for their hall. It was a long hall.

While I was there I found out my friend named John Weeks was there to begin work on a new show for Netflix. One thing led to another and he said that some folks in the art department for the new show wanted to see me. “Me? “, I asked. He said he had seen some concepts for a main set to be built for the new show. He recognized my art as it was used in the mock-ups and layout imagery. John told them, “Hey I know that guy.” The odd part was Hunter and Krista from the Art Department did not know me and they were from out in L.A. It was just a crazy coincidence that they had used photos of my mural art from Clumpies Ice Cream Co. in Chattanooga, TN as a concept they wanted emulate —A light-hearted, happy and colorful bunch of frozen treat characters painted all over a wall. I walked around the corner and up some stairs and met with them. One thing led to another and in a month I was painting the side of a building being transformed into the fictional frozen yogurt shop named Yogurtopia.

I worked along side a lot of folks doing construction and painting things to make an old concrete-block garage become a happy yogurt shop. My mind was blown many-a-times seeing what folks in the movie industry do to make you believe everything you see on television and in the movie theater.

Teenage Bounty Hunters debuted on Netflix August 14, 2020.

Here is a video and some photo I made to show the painted wall.

Fun times to you,
